Using the long-arm

My friend and her daughter were here on Friday to use my quilting machine.  They had a scrappy quilt top made by the youth of our church.  This quilt will be raffled off and the money raised will help fund their 2015 Mission Trip.

This smart young lady did a great job quilting an artful meander all over the quilt.  She worked hard and fast.

Here is the finished quilt with mother and daughter.

It is always fun to spot a familiar fabric in a scrap quilt, like the famous Debbie Mumm sun flowers.

Meanwhile I worked on quilting (on my domestic machine) this little Jaybird Quilts “Rock Candy” table topper.  I used invisible thread to quilt in the ditch, and did some (kinda) straight lines in the border.

Is it Christmas yet?  My Christmas cactus is blooming beautifully as if it were Christmas, but it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet.
