Yesterday I finished quilting and binding a flannel quilt. A friend gave this quilt top to me because it had been sitting around in a quilt shop for years. She told me I could use it for practice on my long-arm and then give it to charity. I have never quilted a flannel quilt and was very worried about it stretching and getting out of shape. After hanging on to it for a long time, I finally decided that the quickest and easiest and safest thing would be to quilt it with a simple meander. I haven’t done a meander in a long time, so it was a nice refresher. The quilt needed washing as it had been sitting in a bag for years and it also had some animal hair on it. I did the binding all by machine. All washed up and ready to give away, it will be a nice cuddly quilt for someone.
Oh my, I sure have neglected this blog lately. Taking pictures and posting them seems much easier on Instagram. And forgetting to take pictures at all seems to be my normal operating procedure over the last month. Yes I am busy, but not that busy. Just lazy and distracted.
Here is a pictures of one of my latest quilts – The Barn Quilt. I made most of these blocks a year or so ago. It is Lori Holt’s pattern (beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com) with some Farmer’s Wife blocks as the barn siding.
The latest quilt that is occupying my time will be for a friend and this is the test block.
To my cousin who inquired about my lack of blog posts, thanks for noticing and reminding me to get busy with my posting.
